Hi! Hi! Oh my gosh it's been so long HOW ARE YOU?
I myself have been manic and busy. It's spring, and you know what that means. Yep, I'm racing to finish another book! My deadline is less than a month away and the date is circled in bright red ink on the calendar in my brain. It's funny how myopic I get when I'm working on something. Here's a hint of what it looks like in my head:

You can see why I'm a little manic right now. I wish I was one of those writers who could come up with an awesome outline and then sit down for three hours every day and calmly work their way through their amazing new book. I am so not that writer that it's ridiculous. Oh well, it's what makes the world turn.
Also, maybe you've already seen this, but the paperback version of "Audrey, Wait!" is about to be released next week! Can you believe it's been a year since my little book was published? Crazycakes. Anyway, here's the paperback cover, which should be gracing your bookshelves pretty soon.
I have to tell you, I really really love it. Audrey (who is actually a very nice model girl from New York) looks amazing and--pop-up trivia time--she's wearing my editor's skirt. Yeah, I don't know how that happened, but apparently it did. Oh, publishing, never change.
Forgive me if my posting is sporadic for the next few weeks, I'm doing my best to corral a bunch of imaginary people and tell their stories. In the meantime, if you'd like to be Twitter friends with me, I would love it! I tend to Twitter mostly about espresso and music and all my embarrassing life events, so, you know, you've been warned.

Hi Ms. Benway. I literally JUST finished your book. Okay, well, technically I finished it, took an online Physics quiz (either Physics or PreCalculus will one day be the death of me), and then found your site as a link from audreywait.com. And I really, really liked the book too - it's got to be one of my favorite books now, and I read all the time, seriously, so my standards are pretty high. My only issue: too much cursing, also use of the 'F word'. But consider first that I've been raised in a traditional, strict "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" kind of environment where I can get in trouble for even saying "stupid" or "shut up", even if I'm not saying it to someone else.
I'm an aspiring author myself, even though I'm just a junior in high school, and I can tell you that if there are any authors out there who can sit at a computer for three hours and just write, I'm not one of them either. I love writing just as you seem to, but we're all human. We're flawed - we look for little excuses to distract us if we're not in a writing mood. Like I'm on your website right now typing this very long comment instead of working on those revisions a literary assistant suggested for my debut novel. Anyway, before I can continue typing and bore the life out of you, I just want to say bye and good luck with your deadline! (I impose my own because I'm super-obsessed with time like that, so I can relate a little.)

I cannot WAIT for the next book. I'm going to rush to the bookstore to get it, promise. With the whole pre-ordering shindig.
The book cover looks BEAUTIFUL, I just love her expression. It's so "Watch out, world, I'm about to burst into song and awesome dance moves." to me. :D Ok, maybe not. It's just very "I have a story to tell." which she does, and an amazing one at that. :)
Gotta love Twitter. Loving the music. Love that there's this new blog entry I get to leave a ginormous comment on! :) Write on.

Just finished your book, hightailed it to google (like I always do), and stumbled upon this blog and your ~*FANTASTIC*~ taste in music. Kings of Leon? Sigur Ros? Irom & Wine? Arcade Fire? Oh yes, please! Now I know where to come for song recs for my ever-evolving writing soundtrack.

I bought this book because I read on the back the reference to Bohemian Rhapsody. I do not regret it at all. I was supposed to go to bed 4 hours ago, but I couldn't put that book down AT ALL. and now here I am seraching to see what else you have written lol. It's actually crazy how much I love this book even though I just finished it not even ten minutes ago.
It was everything that I look for when I am reading. Audrey was someone that I think is a part of us all, or at least we would like to think that we have a little bit of her in us.
I can't wait for the next one.

Hi!
I'm totally new here, and it's great to see that you have a blog that you update regularly (or at least that's what it seems like! :D) Most of the time, when I finish a book or movie that I really like, I go digging around online to see what else is out there. My favorite part is actually finding some thing, like this! I've made a big long list of all the music I could find in 'Audrey, Wait!', and I can't wait to listen to it!
You've mentioned something about another book. Can you tell us anything about it? Is is a sequel to 'Audrey, Wait!', or is it unrelated? Is it coming out soon, or in a year or two?

Soon after I "left" Borders, I wrote a song about you called So Much For True Love. It is a very nice song, very sympathetic to you. My group and I are going to record it in November, you will see it on Youtube if you go to Circular Rubbing Motion. And it is a nice song, don't worry. Well I bought Audrey, Wait and am reading it now. It is very entertaining! You have a definite gift for dialogue, it reminds me of Anthony Burgess. I love rock 'n roll, always have, so it is much more entertaining than I thought it would be. I will probably give it to my daughter after I finish it, though she's 22 now. It's very nice, she'll like it. Well done!

In order to maintain a good site you need to prioritize the golas you have in order to satisfy the users of it. Your site is like that and I really like that there is the both sieds of it. One because of you and the other one for the users.

The above photo has that ethereal quality to it, in my mind. Technically it is not great, but the moment is in my opinion. It's not every day you see a rose bow before a petal.
